Provantry ("we," "our," or "us") is developed by Blue Ink Diagnostics. This Privacy Policy explains what information Provantry collects, how it's used, and your choices regarding that information.

By using Provantry, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. We do not have access to your plain-text password at any time.

Inventory Data

Provantry stores the information you enter to use the app's core features, including:

• Names, brands, and categories of food items you scan or enter
• Quantities, storage locations, and expiration dates you provide
• Menus, meal plans, and recipe templates you create
• Timestamps of when items were added or updated

This data is stored to provide the app's functionality to you and is associated with your account.

Camera Access

Provantry uses your device's camera to scan product barcodes. Barcode images are processed on your device to read the barcode number and are not stored, saved, or transmitted anywhere. Only the resulting barcode number is used to look up product information.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos (beyond the barcode-scanning use above), or browsing history. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell your data to third parties.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

• Provide and maintain the app's inventory tracking, menu planning, and related features
• Authenticate your account and keep your data secure
• Send you account-related emails, such as password reset codes
• Respond to feedback or support requests you send us

3. Third-Party Services

Provantry relies on the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — provides our database, authentication, and backend infrastructure. Your account and inventory data is stored on Supabase's servers.
• Open Food Facts — a public, open product database we query using scanned barcode numbers to retrieve product names and details. No personal or account information is sent to this service — only the barcode number itself.
• Resend — used to deliver transactional emails, such as password reset codes, to the email address you provide.

Each of these providers has its own privacy practices governing the data they process on our behalf.

4. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission and access controls that ensure your inventory data is only accessible to your own account. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account and inventory data for as long as your account remains active. If you would like your account and associated data deleted, contact us at the email below, and we will process your request within a reasonable timeframe.

6. Children's Privacy

Provantry is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
